Reza Shekari scored the first goal by hitting the target in the 7th minute to give Iran an early lead. Zambia’s effort to score an equalizer failed as the first half ended with the same result.
The second half saw Zambians being penalized after committing a foul which gave Shekari the chance to convert the penalty to his and Iran’s second goal.
Zambian football players however could take the lead from Iran by finding the net four times later into the second period.

Amirhossein Peiravani’s boys are slated to take up the national team of Portugal in Week 3 of the event.
Iran has been seeded against Costa Rica, Zambia and Portugal in Group C of the competitions underway in South Korea 20 May and 11 June 2017.
